Ash Tree is a nonprofit organization offering academic, literacy, and enrichment programs for children and families. Our services include after-school tutoring, holiday camps, test prep, and K–8 education through our day school, Savannah Legacy Academy.

What is Savannah Legacy Academy?

Savannah Legacy Academy is a nonprofit private day school operated by Ash Tree, serving grades K–8. It offers a non-traditional curriculum with an emphasis on literacy, hands-on learning, and individualized instruction.

What are the program hours for the after-school program?

​

The after-school program runs Monday through Friday from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM and includes homework support, tutoring, fitness, and our signature Interactive Literacy activities.

• Homework helps and tutoring

 How much does the after-school program cost?

Weekly Rates : $50

Is financial assistance available?

Yes! We offer sliding scale fees and scholarships for families who qualify. Proof of free or reduced lunch status may be required.

To enroll, please submit:

• Completed online registration form

• Current immunization record

• Most recent report card

• Proof of free/reduced lunch status (if applicable)

Why does Ash Tree Organization charge a weekly fee if it’s a nonprofit?

As a nonprofit, our goal is to provide high-quality, mission-driven educational and enrichment services—not to make a profit. The weekly program fee helps cover essential costs, including staff, materials, tutoring, literacy programs, and enrichment activities. Every dollar is reinvested into improving our services for your child and others in our community.

 

 Where do the program fees go?

Your weekly payment helps support:

• Certified tutors and instructional staff

• Supplies for literacy and enrichment programs (like LEGO, books, and games)

• Program space, utilities, and operations

• Snacks and materials for student use

• Scholarships and reduced rates for families in need

Can I write off the fees on my taxes?

In many cases, after-school program fees may be eligible for childcare tax credits. We recommend consulting with a tax advisor and we’re happy to provide a receipt or statement as needed.

 

How is Ash Tree different from a for-profit program?

Unlike for-profit programs, Ash Tree reinvests all program income back into services, growth, and student support. We are governed by a board, follow nonprofit regulations, and are focused on educational equity, not earnings.
